Team of the Week: 27-28 April

29 April 2019

The penultimate weekend of the EFL season was one to remember, with players stepping up when it mattered most. Here's our select XI for 27-28 April...

Roos - Derby County

The keeper had to be at his best as the Rams secured a huge win at fellow Play-Off hopefuls Bristol City.

Bogle - Derby County

Just ahead of Roos, Bogle had an excellent game at both ends, finding the net in the second half.

O'Connell - Sheffield United

The centre-back led by example as the Blades did their bit, scoring to help his side beat Ipswich Town, before promotion was confirmed a day later.

Kent - Colchester United

A goal and a clean sheet against automatic promotion chasers MK Dons represented a great afternoon's work, keeping the Us in Play-Off contention.

Fitzpatrick - Macclesfield Town

The left-back scored a priceless goal as the Silkmen won 1-0 at Port Vale, providing a huge boost to their survival bid.

Browne - Preston North End

A well-taken goal and assist for the midfielder only tells half the story of Saturday's clash at Deepdale, which finished in an entertaining 3-3 draw.

Bannan - Sheffield Wednesday

Bannan matched Browne's output for the afternoon, registering a goal and assist of his own from the middle of the park for the Owls.

McConville - Accrington Stanley

McConville scored a superb hat-trick as Stanley beat Plymouth Argyle 5-1, rounding off his treble in style with a curling effort.

Kirk - Crewe Alexandra

A late double from the attacker earned Crewe a thrilling 4-3 victory over promotion contenders Forest Green Rovers.

Akins - Burton Albion

Luton Town were hoping to celebrate promotion at Burton, but a brace from Akins crashed the party, in what was a fantastic individual display.

Pigott - AFC Wimbledon

Pigott has been in sensational form for AFC Wimbledon and scored two goals to help his side to a huge win over Wycombe Wanderers.

Manager: Barry-Murphy - Rochdale

Barry-Murphy has done a fine job since taking over from Keith Hill, and guided the Dale to safety with a massive 1-0 win over Southend United.
